Think I'll stick to going to Wales for my holidays

'Plane Terror Plot Disrupted'

"Police say they have disrupted a major plot to blow up as many as 20 planes over UK and US cities with explosive devices smuggled aboard as hand luggage."

You know, I'm scratching my head here. Just who would want to do something like that?

Well quite. Part of me thinks I should say something lofty, analytical and steadfast about the importance of security, the need to defend freedom, deploring identity politics, condemning the deliberate targeting of innocents...

But another part of me just wants to yell "What's wrong with these people?"

Call me cynical - but I'm going to wait for the outcome of the trials before making any judgements on this one.

I mean, two days after John Reid calls for greater government powers* there's a 'major plot' exposed?

Not that I think it's fake or anything stupid like that, but I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't a little bit of exaggeration in all this...

(*admittedly he does this a lot)

Countless numbers of mad bastards would wish to do this. Humans are nuts and keep 'believing' things.

If they could stop this terrorist plot, then why didnt they stop the one in London last year? They were saying it was definitely going to happen months before the terrorist act was carried out. Makes you wonder.
